Manage yourself to solve the Problems and Not to Avoid themThe question is how would you manage yourself so that you can have your time for the family and for your online education.You have a job. For obvious reason, they are your income earning hours. What is your plan for the week end?” These above are enough to make you think further and ask yourself; have you made the right decision……of getting married ……or, …of taking up the study. And it can make you go crazy. And it can make you give up your study. And it can make a sour relationship with your wife or husband and even your own parents. Yes, you have made the decisions. They cannot be un-made. You have to manage yourself. You do not want to de-marry. You have paid for the tuition fee. Yes, you can get a refund, but would that help you with a brighter future? Problems crop up and you must manage them, not to avoid them.
Suggestions and ideas of how you would manage yourself
- Discuss with your wife or husband about your plan and schedule of your study. Ask for his / her comments and agreements. Make changes where appropriate. Ask him or her to be your mentor, timekeeper and reminder. Your wife’s / husband’s involvement would serve a reminder to her / himself as well as to you that you have a goal to meet.
- Discuss your study plan with your parents and your parents-in-law. Ask for their understanding and where appropriate, provide a time for them together with your own family. In this way you will get their support and most likely they will not bother you with some affair of no significance.
- Discuss your study plan with your boss in your office. Ask him to be your mentor. Perhaps, your boss would consider your situation when for example to exempt you from doing overtime work.
- Stick to your plan and schedule. Only emergency allows you to break it. If that is the case, you should re-adjust your plan and schedule after the emergency.
- Your plan should include time for physical exercises to keep yourself fit and healthy. If you are sick, how would you manage yourself?
- Maintain a balanced diet and keep to your nutrition program.
- You should build in a time for relaxation with your family and your parents (in-laws).
- Take your doctor’s advice to make sure you have enough hours of sleeping.
- Keep reminding yourself your next item in your schedule. Manage your time, manage yourself.
- Chat with your husband / wife over the breakfast, over the dinner about your study. How did you manage yourself? What are you going to do next? What have you learned? Interject a few statements in appreciating his / her understanding and encouragement.
